Tuesday 2009.06.02/09 - AA Athletics slugger Reagan Lundeen launches two more playoff home runs
In consecutive games against the Pirates on 6/2 and 6/9 Reagan hit two home runs to keep his team in the game. The two tape measure homers were the third and fourth homers of the year for Reagan. Reagan has put together a historic second half of the year which lead his team to the championship game. Awesome job Reagan!!!!
 
 
Thursday 2009.06.04 - Camisasca Cranks Critical Home Run in TOC
Second round of TOC and the Yankees are locking horns with a tough Laguna Beach club.  The Yankees jump to an early lead, but Laguna Beach fights back to tie the game at 4-4 and the Yankees need a pick-me-up.  Up comes Logan Camisasca who picks the perfect time to launch his first home run, launching a fast ball over the left-center fence.  There was no doubt about this one as it cleared the fence by a mile.  This homer catapults the Yankees to a hard-earned 9-7 win, advancing them to the Elite Eight, double-elimination Championship Bracket.
 
Tuesday 2009.06.02 - Ferreira Flings Complete Game, Two-Hit Shutout in TOC
Its the opening round of the Tournament of Champions and the Yankees turn to Alec Ferreira for the start on the mound.  Alec goes the distance, pitching six innings and giving up no runs as the Yankees advance to the next round with a 7-0 victory.  The Yankees defense played terrific behind Alec, with Kelly Ridder helping to preserve the shutout by gunning down the only runner to attempt to score with a perfect throw to catcher Logan Camisasca, who made the tag at the plate.  Great job Yankees!

 

 
Saturday 2009.05.30 - Yankees Ride Robbins to Playoff Championship!!!!
Its the championship game of the playoff tournament, and the Yankees go with ace Ash Robbins on the mound. If the Yankees win, they win the championship, but the Cardinals are a team on a roll and looking to force a final game on Sunday morning. But today is Ash and the Yankees' day as Ash pitches a complete game shutout. But there is more to the story, Ash also hits a two run bomb in the bottom of the 4th inning for the only scoring in the game! This was Ash's first home run and it could not have come at a better time.
 
Saturday 2009.05.30 - Reagan Lundeen crushes second homer of the year in pivotal playoff game!
With his team down 6 runs in the top of the fourth inning Reagan stepped up with a runner on base and launched a line shot that ricocheted off of the scoreboard to put his team back in the game. The Athletics rallied around the shot and went on to win the game 15-8.  Reagan finished the game with 3 hits, five rbi's and pitched the final inning to seal the victory. It was a great individual effort. Way to go Reagan!!!
 
Tuesday – 2009.05.26 – Vinny Verruto Continues to Mash in the Playoffs – Hits Home Run #3
In the bottom of the 1st inning with the bases clear, Vinny watched the White Sox adjust their defense to play him as a dead pull hitter. Instead of putting the ball in play, Vinny took the first pitch deep over the left center wall to put the Rays first run on the board. Vinny also pitched 2 1/3 innings of scoreless baseball to close out the game. Vinny’s coach was overheard saying, “Vinny is a great hitter, but he also makes ALL of his teammates around him better players.”
 
Thursday 2009.05.21 - Matt Rosendahl Hits 3 Run Homer in Cub vs Phillies Playoff Game
In a closely matched playoff game between the majors Cubs and Phillies, Matt Rosendahl helped fuel a comeback from a 6 run deficit by launching a "Roy Hobbs-like" 3 run home run that pounded the scoreboard. Congratulations to Matt on a fantastic home run and season.
 
Saturday 2009.05.16 - Majors Yankees Ryne Russo Delivers Game Winning Home Run
The last game of the regular season and the Yankees and the Cubs are in a battle. The game might go into extra innings because after 5 complete innings the score is still 0-0. There are two out in the top of the 6th inning and the Yankees have one man on when Ryne Russo (11year old) steps up to the plate… the count goes to 2 and 2 when Ryne gets the pitch he’s waiting for…. Boom… He takes one deep to left center over the fence! That’s the only score for the game as the Yankees win 2-0.
 
Saturday 2009.05.09/11 - 48 Hours!!!! Lundeen Brothers Go Deep in Same Week!!!!
The Majors Rays' were down 2-1 in the 4th inning when Reid Lundeen stepped to the plate with runners on first and second. Reid worked the count then cracked a 3 run homer over the back fence in left center. The blast was the decisive hit in the Rays' victory over the Mets…...THEN…….TWO NIGHTS LATER…..little brother Reagan continued the family power surge hitting his first career home run to lead the AA Athletics to victory. Congratulations Reid and Reagan!
 
Saturday 2009.05.09 - AAA Rays Vinny Verruto hits Dinger #2!!
AAA Rays Vinny Verruto hit a full count fast ball over the left field wall.  It was top of the first inning and was just what his teammates needed in order to get pumped up for a hard fought, well-played AAA game.   Way to go Vinny!
 
Tuesday 2009.05.05 - Majors Mets Louis Selstad Pitches 2-Hit Shutout Complete Game

Mets ace pitcher Louis Selstad pitched 6 innings of shutout baseball in a 4-0 victory over the Cardinals.

Louis struck out 5 batters and allowed only 2 base hits in the entire game. Great Job Lou!!

 
Tuesday, 2009.05.05 AAA Rays Vinny Verruto Hits 2 Run BOMB!
In the 4th inning, the AAA Rays Vinny Verruto stepped into the batters box and drove a fastball out of Crown Valley Field 2 for a 2 run HR. The ball landed on the hillside at least 25 feet past the fence in left centerfield! Vinny generally makes good contact when he is at the plate, but this particular ball was mashed! Great play Double V!
 
Saturday 2009.05.02 - AA Pirate Justin Camp Hits His First Home Run!!!!

Top of the 5th inning with the Pirates leading the White Sox by a score of 2 to 1 at the evening AA game at Crown Valley.  The first batter up for the Pirates was Justin Camp.

After hitting a single at his prior at bat, Justin was battling the White Sox pitcher with a count of 2 balls, 2 strikes and 2 foul balls.  On the next pitch, Justin got the pitch he had been waiting for and blasted the ball deep over the left field fence for his first career Home Run and the first home run in the 2009 AA league season.

The Pirates went on to win the game with a 3 to 2 victory over the White Sox in one of the most competitive games of the year.

 
Thursday 2009.04.30 - Majors Phillies Nick Ford Hits HR #3
Nick singled in his first at-bat, his second time up he hit a towering homerun over the green monster (the ball was retrieved off the bank on the opposite side of the creek), and in his last at bat with a full count he hit a line drive shot that hit about a foot below the top of the center field fence giving him a double. Going 3 for 3 and scoring 3 runs, Nick's soild offense helped the Phillies to a 4-3 victory over the Mets.
 
Wednesday 2009.04.29 - Majors Rays Noah McDaniel With Walk-Off Game Winner

With the Rays down 5-4 in the bottom of the 6th against the Cardinals, Noah steps in with one out and runners at 2nd and 3rd. While Noah worked the count, a wild pitch scored the tying run. With the count now full and the winning run at 3rd, Noah chopped a low and away fastball over the third basemans head to drive in the run and complete the come from behind victory. Noah also pitched five innings(2nd thru the 6th) allowing two unearned runs to help keep the Major Rays in first place.


Tuesday 2009.04.28 - Majors Yankees Alec Ferreira Hit HR#1
The Yankees are heating up and have gotten themselves back in the hunt for the regular season championship. They are playing the tough Cubs and really need another win. Alec Ferreira comes to the plate with a man on second and his dad out of town and launches his first home run over the fence in left center field. When dad gets the call about Alec's first dinger, dad's response is "you're lying!" Fortunately, there were plenty of witnesses, but dad has purchased a video camera anyway.
 
Saturday 2009.04.25 - Majors Cardinals Matt Brennan Hits HR #4
Matt Brennan of the Major Cardinals lines a solo shot over the left field wall in the 3rd inning of the Card's 8 to 5 win over the Phillies.
 
Tuesday 2009.04.21 - Majors Rays Bobby Deitz Goes Deep For HR #2
Bobby Dietz cracked a 2 - run homer in the third inning to put the Rays up 3 - 0 against the Mets. The Rays went on to win 4 - 2. This was Bobby's second game in a row with a home run to deep center.
 
Saturday 2009.04.18 - Majors Rays Bobby Deitz Goes Deep For His First HR

With the Rays down 4-2 in the fourth against the rival Yankees, Bobby Dietz stepped to the plate and launched a solo shot on a 1-2 pitch over the fence in dead center. Bobby's first homer of the year was a big part of Rays extra innings 5-4 comeback victory.

 
Thurday 2009.04.02 - Majors Phillies Nick Ford Hits HR #2

Phillies down 9-2 in the bottom of the sixth and two outs, with Justin on first, Nick hit a high drive over the left field fence on the first pitch for a 2-run homerun.

 
Saturday 2009.03.29 - AAA Orioles Chrisian Rojas Pitches Complete Game
AAA Orioles pitcher, Christian Rojas, pitched a one-hitter complete game against the Royals.
Christian threw 78 pitches and had 8 K's for a 4-1 victory.

Major Cardinal's Matt Brennan unloads homerun #3, a 2-run shot over the right-centerfield fence in the 1st inning vs the Cubs.
     
Thursday 2009.03.26 - Majors Ray Oursler Launches Line Drive for His 1st HR of the Season
Ray Oursler came to bat in the first inning with 2 runners on base (Kyle Naffziger and Matt Rosendahl). The Cubs were trailing the Cardinals 2 - 0 when Ray launched a line drive on an inside fastball over the left field fence for a 3 -run homerun. Congratulations Ray!!!!!
 
Saturday 2009.03.21 - Juniors Anthony Verruto Hits HR #1
RNLL Cubs playing the LNLL Mets - one out, man on first the count was 0-2. Anthony drives one over the left field fence -scored 2 runs and gave the Cubs the lead and on to a final score of 10-9 Cubs.

Saturday 2009.03.21 - Majors Justin Palucki Pitches Complete Game
Nick's 3rd inning at bat resulted in a 2-1 fastball sent deep over the left center field fence pushing his Phillies into a 6-0 lead and eventual victory. Justin's strong arm carried his Phillies to a complete game, two hit, one run victory for his first win of the regular season.
 
Saturday 2009.03.21 - Majors Jacob Castro Pitches Complete Game
Major Rays pitcher, Jacob Castro pitches a complete game against the Yankees in 4 innings with a score of 13 to 2. Jacob pitched 59 pitches with only 2 hits and 7 strike outs!
 
Thursday 2009.03.19 - Majors Matt Brennan and Brett Bill Match HRs
   
The Yankees vs the Cardinals first game of the regular season had home runs from both sides. In the 1st inning Matt Brennan goes deep center field with a two run shot, then in the 6th inning Brett Bill of the Yankees gets all of a pitch and takes it to center, for a two run shot to give the Yankees their first lead of the game. The game ultimatly went to extra innings and finished 6 to 6 tie after 8 innings.
 
Thursday 2009.03.05 - Majors Matt Brennan hits first HR of the Spring 2009 season.

Matt Brennan of the Majors Cardinals hit a shot over the left field fence in the Cardinals victory over the mighty Mets on March 5, 2009 at La Paz Field.
