| Monday 2011.06.13 – Majors Giants- Matthews shuts down AVLL in TOC Championship! | ||

Jordan Matthews struck out the first batter and never looked back in pitching a complete game against the Aliso Viejo Yankees in Monday’s TOC Championship game. Jordan had hitters off balance all night scattering 5 hits among 7 K’s. Jordan had the benefit of run support and a strong defense, however it was clear from the beginning that his pitching was sharp. Congratulations to Jordan & his Giant’s teammates. |

Drake Frost of the AA Angels hits his first career homer in the playoffs. It couldn't have come at a better time. Angels were down 7-1 and fought hard to make it a close game. In the top of the fifth, Drake hit a 2 run homer over the center field fence to tie it up 8-8. Way to go Drake!! |

Reagan Lundeen hit a towering Home Run in the 2nd inning and another in the 4th inning to help the Giants beat the cross town rivals from Laguna Niguel LL. That is 3 HRs in 2 TOC games! Each time Reagan was mauled by his excited teammates at home plate. |

In a very tight game against Northwood LL, Reagan Lundeen jacked a 3 run HR to help the Giants advance in TOC. Reagan has been a consistent hitter all season, but lately you can see the added confidence and power in his swing. His performance in this game was big. Congratulations Reagan. |

In the AAA Angels first TOC game, Jonathan Infante set the tone from the outset as he pitched a dominant 4 innings allowing only 1 unearned run on 2 hits and striking out 6. His teammate, Michael Davinni lead the offensive firepower hitting an RBI double in the1st inning pushing the lead to 2-0. |

In the bottom of the 2nd inning in the AAA Championship elimination game against the powerful Diamondbacks, Angels Lance Brack crushed a high fastball over the left center field fence extending the Angels lead to 7-2. This crushing blow helped propel the Angels to an exciting 10-4 win and force a final game on Tuesday 5/31 to determine the AAA Champion. Amazing hit Lance. Way to go! |

Peter Weiss delivered an economical 66-pitch complete game on Saturday, for a 4-3 win against a tough AAA Mets team who held a 1-run lead most of the game. In a “must-win” game for the AAA Giants, Peter threw 62% strikes to keep his team in the game and set the stage for their walk-off victory in the bottom of the 6th. |

| Wednesday 2011.05.18 – Majors Red Sox– Double Trouble | ||

In a must-win game for both teams, the Red Sox pulled out a hard fought playoff win against the Angels. Luke Gitter went 2 for 2 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. He also hit a moon shot over the left centerfield fence for his first home run of the season that put the Sox ahead to stay in the 2nd. The Red Sox rode a clutch pitching performance from Jack Dellorusso who pitched 4 innings of 1 hit ball. Jack also had 6 strikeouts in the game. Great Job, Luke and Jack! |

In the 1st inning of the majors playoff game against the Red Sox, Vinny gets his 4th homerun of the season over the left field fence putting the Dodgers ahead 1-0. Vinny ended the season leading the team in homeruns! It was a great season this year for Vinny and the Dodgers. Congrats Vinny and Dodgers! |

In the top of the 5th inning, Tommy Latta came up to bat with one runner on base. Tommy crushed a 1-0 pitch to straight away center field for a 2 run Home Run. The ball sailed over the second block wall fence at Moulton Field. This was Tommy’s first “Over the fence” home run and it came in a playoff victory over the Giants. Congratulations Tommy! |

The Red Sox staged a dramatic come from behind victory to edge the Dodgers 6-5. The game was one of the most exciting of the season, as both teams brought their "A" games for this playoff duel. The Red Sox rode a gutsy 81 pitch, complete game performance from Luke Gitter to rally from a 5-0 deficit and earn a walk off win in the 6th. Congrats to Luke and his Red Sox teammates! |

AAA Angels Lance Brack pitched a masterful 1-hit shut out over 5 1/3 innings in a 4-0 win over the Dodgers in the first playoff game of the season. He struck out 8 and walked only two batters with 72 pitches. He also contributed with a key RBI triple which ended up being all the scoring needed. It was a truly dominant performance. Way to go Lance! |

| Saturday 2011.05.14 – Majors Angels and Red Sox– Former Teammates Go Yard! | ||

Former teammates Jack Brouwer and Sean Rodriguez each hit bombs in another one- run game between the major Red Sox and Angels. Sean’s homerun was his first, and came in the second inning to put the Angels up 3-1. Jack hit his 3rd blast of the season in the bottom of the 4th, to bring the Sox to within one. The Angels held on to win the exciting playoff game 5-4. Congrats to Jack and Sean! |

In the bottom of the 4th, Reagan hit a 3 run HR to help the Giants secure a win in the first round of the Majors Playoffs. Everyone knew it was gone as soon as it left the bat….Reagan hit a bomb to go along with his other 2 hits in the game. Congratulations on a great performance. |

In the Giants final regular season game, Jordan Matthews and Connor Giffin both hit line drive HRs. After the game the entire Giants team celebrated the season and the big hits (which were HR #3 for Jordan and HR #3 for Connor.) Great plays! |

Monday 2011.05.09 – AAA Yankees– Joe Oursler picks up his team |

Joe entered the game with no outs and his team down 8-2 in the third inning. Joe used his 75 pitches to throw 5 innings of no hit baseball. In the process Joe walked 2 and struck out 10. In one of the more exciting games of the year, the performance allowed his team to fight back and ultimately beat the first place Angels in extra innings 9-8. Awesome job Joe! |

The Giants were looking to Jordan to get things started in the top of the 1st inning. While looking for a pitch he could drive, Jordan took a fastball and slammed it deep over the Green Monster in Left field for season home run #2. Nice way to get your team started…..Great hit Jordan. |

Riley Hunner stepped up to the challenge on Wednesday night - throwing an 80 pitch complete game victory to keep the Dodgers on the winning track. The crafty left hander struck out 6 and walked 0 batters while maintaining a better than 2:1 strike to ball ratio. Riley also helped the team by getting two hits and scoring two runs. With four games in six days and with one catcher out with an injury, Michael Doran steps up to help his team and catch 7 innings of an 8 inning game. Michael caught five innings the night before and helped his team to win both games. The Met’s played a total of 26 innings with Michael catching 22. Way to go Michael! |

In the top of the 2nd Yankees vs. Giants game Maddy Mitchell of the AA Giants hit the longest Home Run in AA RNLL history clearing the trees in left center and landing on Adelanto, the ball ended up on Crown Valley Parkway. Absolutely AMAZING! Way to go Maddy! The Giants went on to beat the Yankees in a hard fought battle 15 to 12. |

Sean Ibarra hits his second home run of the season. He went deep over the left center field fence with one runner on, late in the game to tie the score! He also managed an unassisted double play at first base earlier in the game. |

Sasha Tamaddon had not pitched in over a month, but when he got the nod he took the mound and went for it. Sasha has always been a “calm, cool, level headed athlete” and he demonstrated that again on Saturday night as he threw a 66 pitch complete game shutout to help the Yankees win 8 to 0. Sasha also had two big hits in the game to help out the cause; way to go Sasha! |

In the 3rd inning of a 3-3 tie game with the Diamondbacks, Michael Davinni crushed a line shot over the left field fence putting the Angels ahead 4-3. Later, in the 5th inning he added another RBI single finishing a stellar night going 3 for 3 with 2 RBI's in an exciting win over the Diamondbacks. Way to go Michael! |

Jack Brouwer threw a gem on Wednesday night with a 74 pitch no-hitter en route to a 1-0 Red Sox victory. In a classic pitcher’s duel with two Angels hurlers, Jack struck out 8 and allowed only two base runners behind flawless defense by his Red Sox team mates. The game’s only run was scored in the bottom of the 4th when Brouwer hit a bomb over the right center field fence for his second home run of the season. The fans were treated to a well played game by both teams, and Red Sox Nation witnessed another one-run nail-biter. Congrats Jack on your sensational all - around performance! |

The Major Angels beat the Dodgers 5-1 on Saturday, March 19th behind the offensive and defensive performance of Max Gonda. Max pitched a complete game of six innings allowing only 1 earned run on 3 hits with 10 strikeouts and 0 walks. He threw 85 pitches (which is the maximum allowed per game); throwing 56 strikes and 29 balls; which is almost a 2:1 strike to ball ratio. Offensively Max had a single, a walk, HBP, 1 RBI and scored 2 runs. This was one of the finest overall performances I have ever seen in my years at RNLL. Great Job Max!!! |

Jordan Matthews was the Giants lead off batter in the bottom of the 1st inning. Every Dodgers v Giants game is a rivalry and this one had all the same excitement. With a full count, Jordan stepped into a high fastball and drove it high over the 220 sign in Centerfield for a solo HR. Jordan's has hit many long balls but this was this first bomb at La Paz field.
